Cat Bi airport into an international airport with expectations serves about 4 million passengers in domestic and international every year.

Three main items being renovated, expanded including runway, taxiway system, apron, passenger terminal and air traffic control tower, ensure conditions of exploitation 4 million passengers / year, welcome the large aircraft such as Boeing 747, Boeing 777 and equivalent.

Port is located in Hai An district, the center of the city of Hai Phong 8 km, convenient for operation in civil aviation. Cat Bi upgrade project was started on 19.03.2013 with a total investment of more than 3.600 billion and completed after three years of construction.

There are three domestic airlines are Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific and VietJet are exploiting 5 domestic routes linking Haiphong to Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Buon Ma Thuot, Cam Ranh, Pleiku and recently Hai Pong routes China's provinces. Average frequency of 35 plays flights / dates. Separately in 2015, Cat Bi served 1.3 million passengers, transported more than 6,300 tons of cargo.

Looking ahead, the Port will open more domestic routes to Phu Quoc, Da Lat City, Nghe An, Can Tho and abroad, including China, Japan, Korea, Thailand ...
